Remodern’s outdoor essentials: furniture, lighting, planters and accessories

Posted by Remodern on

Outdoor spaces deserve as much attention to design and furniture choice as their indoor counterparts, especially given our Australian climate and love of living outside. We have a striking collection of tables, chairs and lighting suitable for external residential, commercial and hospitality settings, as well as plant pots and wall tiles that add texture and vibrancy.

Bentu’s versatile range of concrete and metal tables come in different shapes and sizes for small and large outdoor spaces. Nian is the largest, serving as a dining or communal table that accommodates up to eight people. Ding is perfect for intimate or casual dining or drinks. It has a pedestal base and table top comfortably sized for three. Wan seats up to four people and has a dynamic, geometric base with four interlocking splayed legs. The tables have recycled concrete table tops and bold, minimalist steel frames available in black as well as red or yellow for a punch of colour.

The tables are perfectly paired with Bentu h chairs, which have a recycled concrete seat and back on steel frame. While the materials may seem counterintuitive to comfort, they have been ergonomically shaped and crafted for the body and are captivatingly beautiful.

Bentu also produces the visually textured I Terrazzo Table. Made with recycled waste ceramics and concrete, the tabletops have the graphic vibrancy and texture of terrazzo. The pedestal table is available in five heights, two tabletop shapes and two base shapes (circular or square), allowing it to be used for a range of purposes. It is available in red, blue, black, white and cement grey (some as standard, others as custom) and the powder-coated steel base is coloured to match.

m.a.d. Furniture’s Scoop and Transit are versatile outdoor chairs that complement a variety of tables, including Bentu’s terrazzo and concrete collection. Scoop has light aesthetic with a curvilinear tubular frame and contoured mesh, while Transit – one of m.a.d.’s best-selling collections – has a minimal steel rod frame with a slim, curving and dynamic silhouette.

Plants have taken on new life in interior and exterior spaces in recent years, providing lush colour and vibrancy. Bentu’s pots and planters are made with raw and organic materials, such as concrete, terrazzo and lava, that complement the diversity of nature and accentuate the greenery. They are available in square, triangle, circle and hexagon shapes and a variety of sizes that are suitable for being placed on tabletops or in arrangements on the floor or shelving.

Bentu’s concrete aesthetic and craftsmanship extends to the V Wall Light, which is a sculptural, textural accent with precise cubic proportions. Similarly, its O2 Terrazzo Wall Light is a crafted floating disc that is back-lit to create an impression reminiscent of celestial spheres in eclipse. O2 is available in two diameters, two depths and four colours, and discs can be mixed and matched to create sculptural clusters.

Bentu’s range of recycled-concrete wall tiles add decorative dimension to walls with intriguing, sculptural effects. Striking on their own or together, the hexagonal San and Six tiles have raised and recessed lines that create illusions of form, light, shade and pattern. Similarly, the square Wave tile has an undulating surface that creates a hypnotic three-dimensional ripple across the wall. Like all of Bentu’s concrete products, the material has inherent natural variances in texture and colour that make each tile and arrangement unique.
