Sean Dix was born in Kansas City, USA. During his early years he lived in Fiji, Micronesia and the Philippines before settling back in the US, studying fine woodworking in San Diego and interior architecture and sculpture in Chicago.
Graduated from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, Sean moved to Europe in 1994 to further his studies, graduating from Rietveld Academie [Amsterdam] and Domus Academy [Milan] and subsequently working with some of the best internationally distinguished designers including Tom Dixon, James Irvine and Sottsass Associati.
Dix Design + Architecture was founded in Milan in 2000 and quickly developed a reputation for innovative, impactful projects, attracting an array of clients including luxury brands, fashion companies and restaurants.
Since 2008, Dix Design + Architecture has been based in Hong Kong, operating local and international projects for clients including Moschino, Bluebell, Harrods, Bosco di Ciliegi, Design Within Reach, Fiorucci, Byblos, ArtsGroup, Incanto, Pobeda Cinema Complex, La Scala, and I.T.
Beyond Dix Design + Architecture, Sean has lectured and taught at numerous schools around the world including IULM [Milan], Politecnico di Milano, Domus Academy [Milan], Beckman's [Stockholm] and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
