Chair 4 is a hallmark of Vienna cafes, giving the seat its alternative name of the Vienna Chair. Michael Thonet produced Chair No. 4 in 1850 for Café Daum, a social and cultural institution of the nineteenth century frequented by leading writers, artists, journalists and foreign correspondents. As one of the oldest models manufactured by Fameg, it has a prominent, well-deserved place amongst the icons of global design.
Strong and light weight with a timeless aesthetic, Chair 4 is suitable for a variety of settings including cafes, restaurants and residential dining. Range includes dining chairs, armchairs and bar stools.
Fameg is one of the original Gebrüder Thonet factories and has been manufacturing bentwood furniture in Radomsko, Poland since 1881.
