Chair 14 is Fameg’s most famous chair and one of the most popular chairs in history. Introduced by Michael Thonet in 1859, Chair 14 was a response to the need for durable, elegant chairs for newly developing restaurants and café culture, hence it is also known as the Bistro Chair. As Le Corbusier praised: “Never was a better and more elegant design and a more precisely crafted and practical item created."
Strong and light weight with a timeless aesthetic, Chair 14 is suitable for a variety of settings including cafes, restaurants and residential dining.
Fameg is one of the original Gebrüder Thonet factories and has been manufacturing bentwood furniture in Radomsko, Poland since 1881.
