At Remodern, we have partnered with progressive designers to deliver an exceptional curation of bold and radical new designs for outdoor spaces. Uniting striking forms with honest materials, our selection of functional, durable, and weather-resistant lighting and furniture will enrich and elevate exteriors.
The outdoor collection is designed for commercial and residential exteriors alike. It is comprised of work from two distinctive designers: Bentu and Buzao. Bentu’s humble approach celebrates the beauty of simple, authentic forms and materials, whereas Buzao brings an element of uncertainty to the collection with their daring exploration of light and shape. Whilst the two designers are separate entities with unique visions, they are united by their experimentalism and use of natural materials. Together, they are creating dynamic outdoor spaces that are built to last.
Bentu’s collection of outdoor lighting fixtures combines artistic shapes with enduring forms. Each light is a refined sculpture made from either recycled concrete or recycled terrazzo. And with an IP65 rating, they are capable of withstanding natural elements in undercover outdoor environments.
One of the heroes of this collection is O2 Wall Light, which consists of a floating disc made from concrete or terrazzo, offset and backlit to recreate the appearance of celestial orbs in an eclipse. But this ethereal fixture is just the beginning of Bentu’s imaginative design approach; V Wall Light and D Wall Light are equally as enthralling. The precise cubic proportions of the concrete V Wall Light offer textural accents and a meticulous distribution of light, whereas the elegant, versatile shape of D Wall Light illuminates exteriors through a modular concrete form.
The exquisite curves of Shi Modular Sofa by Bentu are bound to inspire, alongside the simple geometry of I Bar Table. Buzao has also been a notable innovator in this respect. A slightly more complex angular structure can be found in Bentu’s Jiong Coffee Table, with its angular edges and tapered profile. Jiong possesses a slender, resolved silhouette that playfully manipulates light and shadow, catching the sun as it moves throughout the day. Bai Side Table has a similar dynamic design; the small round tabletop appears to ‘float’ above the supporting stem and heavy concrete base, adding both whimsy and intrigue to exteriors.
Their 8 Side Table is a vibrant and inexplicable work of art. With its lightly speckled surface texture, and the clever spatial interaction between tabletop and base, this robust but unconventional design will add visual interest to any outdoor space.
