Journey Through Design at the Remodern Showroom.

We are proud to introduce our newly redesigned showroom. Located in Cheltenham, Victoria, Remodern is home to some of the most progressive and thought-provoking furniture, lighting and objects from local and international designers – both emerging and established. Our showroom has always been a place where innovation and non-conformity thrive, but with the help of our friends at Field Office Architecture, we have revitalised the space to provide more meaningful and immersive experiences with design.

At Remodern, we partner with imaginative and boundary-pushing designers from around the world, representing them exclusively in the Australian market. Our showroom presents a unique curation of their boldest, most innovative creations, and the only place in Australia where they can be experienced and appreciated altogether.

Over the years, our collection and brand aesthetic has been rebuilt and refined. We are constantly looking to forge new paths in design, and we needed our showroom to reflect this evolving identity. “Remodern has undergone many changes, including our recent rebrand,” says Remodern Founder and Director Jen. “After reassessing and redefining our aesthetic, we determined that there was a need to reflect this new direction.”

The goal was to create a clearly articulated exhibit that captured the spirit of our designers. We conceived of a new space that would complement our designers’ honest and minimal aesthetic, emphasise their style, and celebrate the material and form of each of their designs. “Collaborating with Field Office inspired a lot of thought-provoking ideas,” says Jen. “They helped us develop a really strong concept to drive the design of the showroom and tell our story, taking into consideration things like scale, and the importance of positive and negative space.”

Emulating the experience of an art gallery, our showroom features a combination of open spaces and more defined, intimate areas. Its meandering layout takes visitors on a journey, encouraging them to explore the entire exhibition and engage with each and every design. Beginning with simple displays in the front, visitors are drawn further into the exhibit, gradually moving through to the larger, denser displays of limited-edition designs in the rear. These rear displays change as the pieces come and go – much like a temporary exhibition.

“We loved the concept of a gallery. We felt this best represented the special nature of our products and allows the different stories to be best told,” says Jen. “The space has been redesigned to define and articulate the individual collections within our portfolio, creating a clear, streamlined and connected representation of all our products.”

The displays feature pieces from experimental design studios Bentu, Buzao and Nongzao, Digital Craftsperson Marcus Piper, as well as our most artistically driven, limited-edition collection, Remodern LIMITED. They have been arranged according to lighting, furniture and object categories – with several displays integrating all three. These integrated displays have been coordinated aesthetically to show viewers how they look in space and offer styling inspiration.

“We’ve created a journey that we feel best communicates the different products we hold, the style and materiality of the pieces, and the stories behind the designs and the designers,” says Jen.
